Description

One of the fascinating aspects of Frances' life is how her archive is constructed. This section allows the viewer to get a sense not only of Frances' life, but also how her archive is set up, and how archival sources relate to her life and life writing/historical writing as a whole. For example, in what ways do absences relate to the construction of narratives/analysis? How does one determine truth in an archive? How does one determine audience in an archive?

This collection provides teaching resources for those who wish to use archives for research. There is included useful analysis of secondary resources for archival research, as well as video introductions and analysis to different elements of Frances' own archive from the Joint Archives of Holland.
